Although Fishers is one of the fastest growing towns in the nation, it also has a sweet, homey feel to it. One of my favorite parts of town is a place I like to call "downtown Fishers," which mainly consists of the main street that comes into town. The street is paved with a picturesque brick sidewalk paralleling it. As you walk through town, you will see modern industry such as a Super Target as well as family owned restaurants and shops. The center of town holds the post office, fire station, and library, as well as the town hall which hosts many events year round that folks of Fishers come to enjoy.

When I was younger, every weekend I would ride my bike to downtown Fishers to look in the shops, rent books from the library, or buy candy from Super Target. Since then, the town has grown exponentially. Our school district now boasts 2 high schools, 3 junior highs, 4 middle schools, and upwards of 15 elementary schools. Even though Fishers has become so heavily populated over the past years, there are still small, friendly communities within the larger one. I love the neighborhood that I live in because everyone is so nice. A typical day during summertime might consist of a swim at the neighborhood pool, or a walk down the street to a family owned custard stand. Although Fishers might not boast the big city flair, it is a big town with a big heart, and I am happy to call it my home.

There is so much to do in and around Fishers! If you want to learn more please visit the town website at http://www.fishers.in.us.

Radio Stations Serving Fishers, IN

There are a lot of radio stations that serve my community, almost too many to count. Here is a list of all of the stations that serve Fishers. (hold your breath!)...

WJCF 88.1 FM
WICR 88.7 FM
WJEL 89.3 FM
WBSB 89.5 FM
WRGF 89.7 FM
WFYI 90.1 FM
WKPW 90.7 FM
WBDG 90.9 FM
WEDM 91.1 FM
WHJE 91.3 FM
WRFT 91.5 FM
WEEM 91.7 FM
WBST 92.1 FM
WTTS 92.3 FM
WZWZ 92.5 FM
WNOU 93.1 FM
WISG 93.9 FM
WKWH 94.3 FM
WFBQ 94.7 FM
WFMS 95.5 FM
WIJY 95.9 FM
WHHH 96.3 FM
WHTI 96.7 FM
WENS 97.1 FM
WGNR 97.9 FM
WRDZ 98.3 FM
WQME 98.7 FM
WZPL 99.5 FM
WSHW 99.7 FM
WWKI 100.5 FM
WYJZ 100.9 FM
WURK 101.7 FM
WKLU 101.9 FM
WMDH 102.5 FM
WRZX 103.3 FM
WLBC 104.1 FM
WGLD 104.5 FM
WERK 104.9 FM
WYXB 105.7 FM
WTLC 106.7 FM
WEDJ 107.1 FM
WHHC 107.5 FM
WTPI 107.9 FM
WSYW 810 AM
WXLW 950 AM
WLHN 990 AM
WIBC 1070 AM
WHBU 1240 AM
WNDE 1260 AM
WTLC 1310 AM
WXFN 1340 AM
WIOU 1350 AM
WXNT 1430 AM
WGNR 1470 AM
WBRI 1500 AM
WKWH 1520 AM
WMDH 1550 AM
WILO 1570 AM
WNTS 1590 AM

Whew! That was long... but informative! Out of all these fine stations, I chose to research my favorite, WRZX 103.3 FM.

Address:
6161 Fall Creek Road
Indianapolis, IN 46220
Ownership:
Clear Channel Communications
Program Director:
Lenny Diana

WRZX 103.3 is a great radio station in Fishers, which delivers an amazing rock format. They spotlight new artists as well as throwing in some older songs every once in awhile. As far as rock stations go, X103 definitely has the widest range. You could tune in and hear anything from AC/DC's "Back in Black" to the newest Linkin Park song. The station also gives news updates every hour, on the hour. This includes news in the celebrity world, local news, national news, as well as odd news stories from around the world. It also sponsors many local contests and fundraisers, keeping X103 fully involved with the Fishers community.

For more information, visit their website at http://www.wrzx.com/main.html.

Television Stations Serving Fishers, IN

The local television stations serving Fishers, IN are: WTHR Channel 13, Cable TIE Express, Crescent Electric Supply Co., Englewood Electric Division of Wesco, Goldschmidt Electrical Sales Company Indps, Home Town TV Inc., Lesea Broadcasting Corp., Marsh Electronics, Overnite Electric Supply Inc., and WHMB-Channel 40

The TV station that I have chosen to research is WTHR Channel 13.

Address:
1000 North Meridian St
Indianapolis, IN 46204
Ownership:
Dispatch Broadcast Group
News Director:
Jim Tellus

The Channel 13 WTHR news center is well known in the Fishers area for producing fast and accurate local news and weather.
